Y1 & 2 - Henwood Class

Henwood Class
Years 1 and 2
Miss Cachia is our Teacher and she is also a Forest School Lead and our History and Geography Subject Lead. Mrs Morse and Mrs Squires are our Teaching Assistants. We are a busy class of 29 children who love to ask questions, explore and get creative!
Monday: Weekly communication letter sent out.  
Tuesday: Forest School, half day for each year group alternating between the morning and afternoon session each week. It is also PE with Mr Jones for the year group not attending Forest School in the morning and so please remember your PE kit!
Wednesday: We change our reading for pleasure book in the library. 
Thursday: Ms Goodey teaches our class in the afternoon while Miss Cachia is busy planning, preparing and assessing our learning. Yoga in the afternoon. 
Friday: We enjoy mindfulness and relaxation in the morning. 

Autumn Term 2019/2020

Welcome to the start of a new school year! We have had some wonderful classroom upgrades over summer and the Henwood classroom is set and ready to welcome you all. 

October 2019

We are now in full swing of our Dinosaurs topic where we are focusing on Science (Animals including Humans), History and Geography. We have begun to learn our 'Hands, Heart, Feet' song using Charanga for our music learning, we will begin to play some tuned and untuned instruments this term. Next week, we will be attending our first visit of the year to Pizza Express in Plymouth where we will be making our own pizzas as part of our Healthy Eating topic and Design Technology. We'll share some photos in the gallery to show you our wonderful designs.
