Pupil Premium previous year's funding 2018-19

Pupil Premium 2018 – 2019

What is the purpose of the Pupil Premium Grant?

Pupil premium funding is granted to schools to address underachievement and improve outcomes for disadvantaged (either by circumstances or financial hardship) pupils. We know from national data that this group of pupils underachieves at every stage from 5 to 16 years when compared with other pupils. The aim of this document is to show you how we are spending the grant in ways that will help to ensure that disadvantaged pupils fulfil their potential and do at least as well as their non-disadvantaged peers with similar starting points within the school and nationally.

Disadvantaged pupils fall under 3 categories:

  • Pupils who are in receipt, or have ever been in receipt of, free school meals.

  • Looked after or adopted children.

  • Service children.

If you feel your child may be eligible for this grant please contact the school office for further information and assistance (01579 362519). Alternatively, visit cornwall.gov.uk and search for Free School Meals. As well as offering lots advice and information, you are also able to make an online application.

It is up to our school as how to best spend the Pupil Premium grant to ensure maximum impact for our pupils. However, the school is accountable for demonstrating the impact of our spending.

We have high expectations of all our children and believe in a culture of high aspiration and achievement for all and are dedicated to ensuring that our most disadvantaged pupils achieve as well as their peers.

We believe that all children have the right to achieve and to become life-long learners.

In our school our dedicated Pupil Premium lead is Emily Goodey (Head of School).
